Maasin City Fiesta
Maasin, Southern Leyte, Philippines

In the Summer of 2005, I went back to the Philippine Islands after many years of being away from the place of my birth.  Myrna Del Rio and I stayed in Maasin, the capital city of Southern Leyte, one of the many islands in this beautiful archipelago.  We performed at the Second Annual Dance For A Cause, or "Sayawan Sa Pangilin", that is part of the annual Maasin City Fiesta.  Backed by some musicians from the nearby island of Cebu, we performed for a very enthusiastic crowd of dancers and music enthusiasts.   The opening act, the legendary Zee Band, also from Cebu, played a dynamite set of R&B, Latin and Pop standards.   Ms. Del Rio and I were honored to be the special invited guests from the United States.  We are alreay looking forward to our return to Maasin as well as Cebu and Manila, two major cities and entertainment centers for the entire country.
