Villahermosa Festival Internacional De Jazz en el Eden

I first performed in Mexico in 1993 when I visited Cozumel and met some wonderful musicians.  With this band, I played at different nightclubs and private parties.  Last year, vocalist Myrna Del Rio and I were invited to perform on July 2004 at the 1st Jazz Las Casas.  Located in the mountainous region of Chiapas, this is a beautiful city, very old and also very receptive to jazz and blues, as we found out.  Myrna and I returned to Mexico to perform at the 3rd Festival Internacional de Jazz en Eden held in the city of Villahermosa, Tabasco.  This summer, we have been asked to return to the 2nd Jazz Las Casas festival, this time with some Bay Area jazz artists including vocalist Frankye Kelly.  We will also be appearing at a music and arts festival in Palenque, a nearby city famous for its Mayan ruins.  Ms. Del Rio and I are both surprised and delighted with the wonderful reception that we have recieved in Mexico.  We plan to return every year to perform and to continue developing our new friends and fans in this wonderful country.
