Over the years Carlos Zialcita has always been in a working blues band – either as a sideman or as a leader. As a featured sideman, he has worked with the best, including Johnny Otis, Jimmie Rogers, Pinetop Perkins, Chick Willis, Lowell Fulsom, Jimmy McCracklin, Percy Mayfield, Sonny Rhodes, Eddie Ray, Cool Papa, Country Pete McGill, and Sugarpie DeSanto. As a leader he has fronted several bands over the years including the Eldorado Blues Band, The California Cadillacs, and currently the Carlos Zialcita Blues Band. He has recorded with several of these artists including Johnny Otis, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Eddie Ray, and Country Pete McGill. Zialcita has performed at numerous blues festivals all over the United States and Canada, including the an Francisco Blues Festival where has performed with The Eddie Ray Rhythm and Blues Band (1981), The California Cadillacs with special guests Little Joe Blue and Maxine Howard (1986) and The Cottonfield Trio featuring Country Pete McGill and Robert “Big Bob” Deance (1996). The Carlos Zialcita Blues Band will be releasing a “Live at Eli’s” CD in early 2008.
